Overview
The 4-day Manu Jungle Expedition in the Cultural Zone takes you through the diverse landscapes of the Manu National Park, ranging from creek-laden valleys to high elevations of up to 4200 m.a.s.l. This park is divided into three zones: the restricted use zone, which is accessible only to researchers and houses untouched forests and native communities; the reserved zone, designated for recreation and research; and the recuperation zone, dedicated to restoring disturbed areas.

Itinerary
Manu Jungle Trip Day 1: Cusco – Soga de Oro
Our journey begins in Cusco, where we board a private bus and head towards the pre-Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. After this, we make our way through the mountains to Paucartambo, a charming town where we take a brief walking tour. Continuing on, we reach Tres Cruces, the highest point and entrance to Manu National Park. From here, we enter the Cloud Forest and embark on a one-hour walk in San Pedro to observe the National bird of Peru, the cock of the rock, and various monkeys, plants, and flowers. After this, we proceed to Atalaya, where we take a boat down the Alto Madre de Dios river to Soga de Oro, where we spend the night on raised platforms in tents.
Manu Jungle Trip Day 2: Soga de Oro – Machuwasi
We wake up early and continue our journey by boat, observing various bird species like egrets, herons, cormorants, and kingfishers along the way. We stop to bathe in natural hot springs and then embark on a several-hour evening walk in search of peccary, monkeys, and more. We can also build a bonfire and enjoy some drinks before retiring to our tents on the sandbank.
Manu Jungle Trip Day 3: Machuwasi – Night Walk
We rise early to visit the parrots clay lick, and after breakfast, we return to Atalaya by boat, where our private bus awaits to take us back to Cusco via the cloud forest and Paucartambo. We arrive back in Cusco in the late afternoon.
