Before departing for our lodge, take a moment to visit the main square of the city and capture stunning photos from the viewpoint of Plaza Grau, where you can admire the confluence of the Madre de Dios and Tambopata rivers.
Next, board our typical Amazonian jungle boat at the Port of Capitania for a 40-minute navigation on the Madre de Dios River to our lodge. Upon arrival, we will welcome you with a refreshing juice made from local fruits and assist with your room assignment.
The following day, we will embark on a thrilling adventure through the jungle. First, we will take a walk through the forest to reach the Canopy bridge. During the day, you will have the opportunity to observe various bird species and admire the beautiful natural scenery. Our guide will provide detailed explanations about the flora and fauna of the area.
After experiencing the canopy platform, our guide will explain how to do the zip line. With the necessary equipment provided, you will slide down a 190-meter long zip line. Once you reach the other end, our assistant will help you cross a 75-meter bridge, and you will return to the starting point by another 160-meter long zip line.
Following a satisfying lunch, you can take a nap in the hammocks or relax. We will then continue with our adventure by kayaking to Monkey Island. For your safety, there will always be a boat accompanying the group. This is a great opportunity to swim in the Madre de Dios River and de-stress from city life. The island is home to a group of friendly monkeys who are accustomed to humans. You can feed them and observe their interactions with other species.
Upon our return to the Amazon Garden Lodge, we will take a break in the afternoon and enjoy drinks provided by our bar while relaxing in the hammocks with a majestic view of the Madre de Dios River and the sunset in front of the monkey island.
In the evening, we will board a boat with a reflector to observe caimans on the beaches along the river bank. We may also spot other animals such as nocturnal birds and capybaras, which are the largest rodents in the world. Finally, we will enjoy a delicious dinner and rest at the lodge.
